    5 Sentidos Cucharilla y Papalome from Delfino Tobón Mejia was produced in San Pablo Ameyaltepec, Puebla. Batch CUPADEL22 is one of the maestro mezcalero Delfino Tobón’s first attempts at distilling with Cucharilla, a Dasylirion plant that is better known as Sotol in northern Mexico. Delfino harvested nearly 150 Cucharillas from the gray limestone soil of his wife’s hometown in Central Puebla, then roasted them alongside Papalome harvested from San Pablo. Delfino’s classic tropical fruit thumbprint comes through on the nose, and the characteristically dry Cucharilla opens up the palate to dried herbs and fresh citrus.
