If you are used to the heavy and jammy style of traditional Nero d’Avola, this bottle will be a breath of fresh air. Grown in the brilliant white limestone soils of Noto, the earth actually reflects sunlight back into the vines to create a wine that is surprisingly light, energetic, and floral. Because it is crafted with a low-intervention approach and aged only in steel, you get to taste the pure fruit and a hint of saltiness from the nearby Ionian Sea. It is a wonderful find that captures the delicate, soulful side of Sicily in every glass.
